M1 by Bowen & Groves creates a better Business for Stemar Electrical Products

Marcus Maraldo of Sydney based transformer and switchgear manufacturer Stemar Electrical Products, says that the M1 by B & G™ ERP software program has made his company 'a better business'. Recently moving to the M1 WebGear e-commerce module has opened up new trading opportunities with local and export customers in differing time zones. The M1 by B & G™ ERP software program developed by Bowen & Groves, has assisted Revesby, NSW based Stemar Electrical Products to create a better business environment.

Stemar Electrical Products is a family owned manufacturer of electrical equipment, including distribution transformers, metering equipment and switchgear, most of which is manufactured locally.

The company employs some 30 people and was founded in 1970.

Manager Marcus Maraldo notes that the company made an early commitment to the Bowen & Groves M1 program after witnessing a demonstration at a trade show in the late 1990's.

"In 2000 after Bowen & Groves added a comprehensive financial module to the program, which is now one of almost 30 job estimating and quoting, production scheduling, purchasing, inventory and quality modules, we decided that M1 by B & G supplied all the solutions we wanted.

"We were at the time well on top of the emerging computer technology so installing, training our people and commissioning M1 represented no major challenge for us.

"Now with more than five years of experience with M1 we have derived many benefits from M1 from time and cost savings, to better service and support to our customers and an improved bottom line.

"The M1 E-Commerce module - has been particularly beneficial to us.

"We have adopted it as a two stage process.

"Initially our customers could track the status and position of their orders and shipments on line which was very successful.

"We then moved to a full on line quoting and order placement which has added a new business dimension, especially with the arrival of daylight saving time and different time zones for our export customers in particular.

"Effectively it means we are open around the clock, regardless of whether our offices are attended" Marcus Maraldo said.
